Tom passed away March 30 after a nearly two-year battle with stage 4 glioblastoma. He and his wife Kelsey bravely shared every step of his cancer journey to raise funds and awareness for brain cancer.

Speaking about Tom’s memoir Hope, Max revealed: “It’s a book that Tom wrote in the last 12 months of his life.

“It’s from the beginning, from his upbringing to the end – the whole journey, how he had tough beginnings and his own problems, but it’s a book about hope and it’s a book about triumphs and obviously Tom has had a lot of difficulties the trail, especially towards the end – the hardest thing to go through – and of course Kelsey.’

And on how Kelsey is doing, Max added: “Kelsey has been amazing. She has always been very strong, just like Tom. They were literally two peas in a pod.

“She raised awareness about glioblastoma and cancer in general, she was amazing. We talk quite often, just reach out, make sure she’s okay.’

Meanwhile, Kelsey opened up about Tom’s all-encompassing memoir earlier this month as she joined hosts Charlie Stayt and Naga Munchetty on the BBC Breakfast.

Charlie asked Kelsey how she was, to which she replied, “That’s a hard question to answer, but I’m fine. I’m really strong and I get through every day.

It’s really hard, obviously I have two kids and we’re actually a really happy house. My kids wake up laughing, so so am I.

“Don’t get me wrong it’s tough it’s been eight weeks since we lost him but I get there every day.”

Speaking about the book, Kelsey said, “Tom was this guy from Bolton who didn’t have much training and then threw himself into this boy band, and that in itself is amazing.

“When he was diagnosed they told him that’s it, it’s stage four and I said to Tom we just have to get through this, we have to be as positive as possible and use everything we can.”

“We lived every day, we had hope and we had love and laughter.”
