Tomi Lahren Tells The New York Times She Laments That ‘Little Mermaid’ Has No ‘Kink’: ‘We’re Done Playing’

OutKick host Tomi Lahren slammed the New York Times for publishing a review of The Little Mermaid, claiming it lacked fun, risk and “kink.” On Tuesday from Fox & Friends First, Lahren called the review “disgusting” and warned companies not to mess with conservative parents.

NY TIMES was angered by an article bemoaning the lack of ‘kink’ in new ‘Little Mermaid’: ‘The left sexes children’

TOMI LAHREN: It’s completely disgusting that you associate this with a children’s film. But when these authors, these institutions, these publications tell you who they are, believe them. And again, this is just another step when it comes to the sexualization and exploitation of children by these left-wing organizations. And we’re talking about the FBI. We’re talking about the debt ceiling. We’re talking border security here, all things that Republicans and Conservatives unfortunately can’t keep up, at least for now. But the left has found a space. They have found the hill where conservatives and decent people are willing to die, and that is protecting children. And we will do it every time, ask Target, ask Bud Light, ask Kohl’s. We will protect children. We will prevent them from being exploited. We will do it every time. Do not mess with us. We’re done with that.

The Times is making waves online for its review of the new live-action children’s film and complaint that “Kink” was missing.

“The new live-action ‘The Little Mermaid’ is everything no one should want from a film: dutiful and defensive, yet desperate for recognition,” wrote film critic Wesley Morris in a review for The Times.

“It stinks of obligation and noble intentions. Joy, fun, mystery, risk, flavor, kink — they’re missing,” he wrote.

The reference to “kink,” sometimes meaning “a person’s unusual sexual preference,” particularly in the context of pop culture, has garnered attention online. The Little Mermaid is rated PG and is marketed to children and families.
