Vincenzo Camporini, former chief of staff of the Air Force and Defense, is among the guests on the October 14 episode of Stasera Italia, the Rete4 television program hosted by Augusto Minzolini. The journalist calls on the general to explain the developments in the Israeli invasion of Gaza in response to last Saturday’s Hamas attacks: “They can prepare the ground and also be a fundamental phase of the Israeli response.” We must not forget that the technology they have in Israel is the most advanced in the West, so from what I’ve heard we can’t talk about carpet bombings, they are very targeted. The precision of the weapon systems used is in the order of one to one and a half meters. So it is clear that we are targeting where we suspect there is enemy activity. Especially missile launches, which are easily visible to any surveillance system. The reaction can also be implemented within a few minutes.”

Then General Camporini continues his analysis of the war: “As far as the military aspect is concerned, it must be said that we have seen that there is this concern about what could happen in the north.” Had this concern been really concrete, and I doubt that me, it would have manifested itself on the Saturday afternoon after the Hamas attack. It would have been an operation that would have had very, very negative consequences for Israel. Just as the southern front was not heavily manned, the northern front was also hardly manned. If that didn’t happen on the border with Lebanon, it means Hezbollah is just putting on a cruel face.”
