War in the Middle East, how was such a massive attack on a country like Israel possible? Dario Fabbri, director of Domino, tries to answer the question in the episode of Stasera Italia that will air on Rete4 on October 10th. Fabbri analyzed the behavior of Israeli intelligence and how it underestimated a hypothetical attack from the south of the country.
“The Israelis relied on some movements,” explains Fabbri. “First of all, the agreement they reached with Hamas on economic migrants, d Gaza and its workers. Some time ago, the United States and Iran reached an agreement to exchange prisoners and, on the American side, release some billions of dollars that were delivered to Qatar as part of the Hamas administration and were intended to reach the population. For these reasons, for a few weeks ago, Israel was involved in clashes in the West Bank and had moved some of its assets to the West Bank. And it was quiet, maybe too quiet. But in any case it was less afraid of an attack from the south. The intelligence errors, even if they are dramatic, are unfortunately common.”
