Tonight’s show host Karl Stefanovic “giggles” during a compulsory rural fire service training session after being late – but he had a very reasonable excuse
The moderator of today’s program, Karl Stefanovic, was late this week for a mandatory training course for the rural fire brigade.
According to reports, the 49-year-old arrived more than half an hour late for the mandatory safety training at 9 a.m. on Wednesday.
After his performance, Karl, who is known for his Larrikin antics, was spotted occasionally giggling with fellow Channel Nine staff during the session, according to The Daily Telegraph.
But the TV presenter had a very good reason for being late, as he had finished his duties as host of the “Today” show at 9 a.m. sharp and had to rush to the meeting.
Karl and other journalists must complete the session to access the fire front during bushfire season.

This comes after the Today show host was recently angered by fans for his on-the-spot reporting of the aftermath of the Malaysia Airlines security incident.
He appeared live at Sydney Airport earlier this month to follow the security crisis that led to flight MH122 being turned around after 55-year-old passenger Muhammad Ali Arif, a dual Pakistani-Australian citizen, began to “smack” passengers and flight crew threaten”.
As Karl began his field interview with two aviation experts, he seemed nervous to onlookers and stumbled over his words several times.
Viewers mercilessly criticized Karl’s spontaneous reporting style and took to the MediaSpy forums to annoy him.
“I don’t think Karl seems to have much to say at the airport this morning.” “He seems to be fumbling with his words and quite sweaty,” scolded one viewer.

Thankfully, Karl seemed to regain his composure as the morning wore on, giving viewers a clearer understanding of the frightening ordeal.
A Malaysia Airlines plane was forced to return to Sydney earlier this month after a passenger ranted wildly about Allah.
In a dramatic video, the man was seen calling himself a “slave of Allah” before prompting other passengers to repeat that they were also “slaves of Allah”.
He was arrested at Sydney Airport and spent the night in custody.
