It was a highly anticipated release for science fiction fans. This Friday, December 22nd, the first part of the Rebel Moon diptych was released on Netflix. The first dedicated subscribers flocked to the platform to discover this film… and were very disappointed. “Rebel Moon is predictable and cliche. Too pretentious in many ways, the whole scenario is easy to guess, certain characters are there without us really knowing why… I imagine the long version is better, too many things had to be cut in the editing. “I’m disappointed in everything except the special effects and the actors,” one netizen wrote in great detail on X (formerly Twitter). Other Netflix subscribers seem to share this observation about Zack Snyder's film. “Watching Rebel Moon is less fun and less interesting than watching paint dry,” another commented. Zack Snyder really doesn't know how to construct a movie. I spent two hours of my life watching this story and learned nothing about the characters.”

Rebel Moon: When tyrants attack a space colony
In Rebel Moon, Zack Snyder and the talented actors he surrounded himself with – notably Sofia Boutella in the lead role, as well as Charlie Hunnam and Ray Fisher – tell the story of a space colony threatened by a tyrant and his horde of soldiers. To defend themselves against the invader, the residents call upon Kora, a mysterious young woman whose mission is to seek help on other planets. A story that “totally lacks rhythm despite an incredible universe,” according to a French-speaking Internet user who saw the film immediately after its release on December 22nd.
Netflix subscribers question the sharpness of the footage in “Rebel Moon.”
Another disturbing element in Rebel Moon. Netflix subscribers are not impressed with Zack Snyder's choice of films. “I'm just starting out, but the focus in Rebel Moon is strange, isn't it?” emphasizes one of them. “What is Snyder's principle in Rebel Moon, to constantly make us doubt whether we are wearing the glasses because three quarters of the picture is out of focus,” says another. Despite this harsh criticism, other subscribers had a lot of fun watching the film. “It's not all perfect, but we're a long way from the cleansing described by critics. “This is a good start for me,” one of them said. “Thank you Zack Snyder for Rebel Moon and thank you Netflix for Zack Snyder. “You have created something magnificent,” another even congratulated.

Watch out #RebelMoon is less fun and less interesting than watching the paint dry.
I swear, Zack Snyder really doesn't know how to pace a movie. I spent two hours of my life on this story and learned everything about the characters.
PS: I wanted that stupid farmer to die so bad.

#RebelMoon is predictable and cliche. Too pretentious in many ways, all plot lines are easy to guess, some characters are present…why exactly? I bet the director's cut is better, I think too much was cut out. I'm disappointed in everything except the CGI (finally) and the actors.

I didn't have a bad time, but despite the incredible universe, I find it sorely lacking in rhythm. #RebelMoon pic.twitter.com/dgB68NLdvD

I'm just getting started, but the focus in Rebel Moon is strange, isn't it?

What is Snyder's principle in “Rebel Moon” without Dek that makes us constantly doubt whether we have the glasses on because three-quarters of the picture is out of focus?
