Week 1 of the 2023 NFL season is in full swing and we’re bringing you all the action from across the league!
To kick things off on Thursday, Jared Goff and the Detroit Lions defeated reigning Super Bowl champion Patrick Mahomes and the Kansas City Chiefs in a breathtaking game.
The action continues on Sunday with a series of high profile matches. The Carolina Panthers began with a loss at the Atlanta Falcons in an NFC South Division showdown, a game in which No. 1 overall draft pick Bryce Young made his NFL debut. Other star rookies making their first starts on Sunday included Anthony Richardson, the Indianapolis Colts’ new starting quarterback, Bijan Robinson, the Atlanta Falcons’ RB, and CJ Stroud, the second overall pick and the new QB Houston Texans, to name a few.
The current afternoon card features a rivalry as old as time: Justin Fields and the Chicago Bears take on Jordan Love and the Green Bay Packers, followed by the Dallas Cowboys at the New York Giants to close out the day.
Here are the top games from Sunday!
Los Angeles Rams at Seattle Seahawks
Green Bay Packers at Chicago Bears
The J-love era begins
After Chicago flipped the ball in downs early in the game, Green Bay drew the first blood. On the 11th play of the drive, Love hit wide receiver Romeo Doubs in the back of the end zone for an 8-yard touchdown.
Las Vegas Raiders at Denver Broncos
Almost an amazing beginning…
Early in the game, Denver appeared to regain an onside kick attempt, but it was flagged for an illegal touch.
New faces connect
Quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo and wide receiver Jakobi Meyers met for a touchdown in Las Vegas on the first possession of the game.
Miami Dolphins at Los Angeles Chargers
The Chargers strike first
Miami put the ball in the red zone on first possession, but quarterback Tua Tagovailoa fumbled inside the 5-yard line. The Chargers then put on a 14-game drive that ended with an Austin Ekeler shot on goal.
Philadelphia Eagles at New England Patriots
Pick-six
The Eagles scored a field goal on their first possession of the game. Then cornerback Darius Slay grabbed Patriots quarterback Mac Jones and ran the interception 70 yards back for a touchdown.
FINAL: Atlanta Falcons 24, Carolina Panthers 10
Hawks capitalize
Three plays after Jessie Bates picked off Young, rookie running back Bijan Robinson fended off a tackle in the red zone and ran for an 11-yard score for the Falcons.
Bryce gets TD #1
Young hit tight end Hayden Hurst for his first NFL touchdown, putting the Panthers on par with the Falcons at seven each.

Jags have some receivers…
Ridley is back, but don’t forget Zay Jones. The latter scored Jacksonville’s second touchdown with a remarkable catch in the back corner of the end zone.
Second and whatever
Facing a second-and-28, Richardson got the ball to Michael Pittman Jr., and the wide receiver got some blocks and ran through Jacksonville’s defense for a touchdown.
It’s confusion
Lawrence was hit and running back Tank Bigsby picked up the loose ball – what he apparently thought was an incomplete pass. Then the ball was knocked out of Bigsby’s hands and DeForest Buckner ran it back for a Colts touchdown.
Back in front
Bigsby scored a goal-line goal to give the Jaguars the lead. Then Jaguars cornerback Tyson Campbell grabbed Richardson. Three plays later, Travis Etienne ran out of a series of tackles and scored a 26-yard touchdown, giving the Jaguars a 10-point lead.

The Vikings strike back
