The G3 is the only Oled TV from LG to use the new Oled panel, which is equipped with billions of microlenses to dramatically increase peak brightness. This panel also improves viewing angles and reflection processing. Is that enough to make it the best OLED TV on the market?

The LG 55G3 – the 55-inch (140cm) version of the LG 65G3 we tested – is quite simply the best TV tested in our lab to date. It combines all the advantages of Oled technology (contrast, precision, responsiveness, viewing angle) with the high brightness of a Mini Led model. Even the anti-reflective filter is even more efficient. If we look closely, we discover minor flaws, such as lower colorimetric coverage compared to QD Oled TVs, an optional stand or even a fairly standard remote control. The fact is that this television is currently the best for all purposes (films, series, video games, TV and sports).
Strong points
- Peak brightness that has never been seen before on an OLED television (1490 cd/m²).
- Image quality in SDR and HDR.
- Infinite contrast.
- Viewing angle.
- Always efficient α9 processor.
- Oled technology responsiveness, excellent display delay.
- Compatibility with HDMI 2.1 (VRR, ALLM, eARC), FreeSync and G-Sync.
- Flat design with cable management system for easy wall mounting.
- Wall mounting included.
- Rotating base (but optional).
- Reduced consumption.
Weak points
- Optional stand (€199).
- Obligation to install a cable duct to hide the cables.
- Remote control not illuminated.
- The amount of colorimetric coverage does not increase.

LG has been hitting hard with its C series for a few years now, and this LG 55C3 – the 55-inch (140cm) version of the LG 65C3 we tested – is still an excellent reference. Certainly the developments are poor compared to the C2, but we are happy about the increase in the maximum brightness of the panel. The versatility of the TV is always there to enjoy movies at home and games with almost no compromise. The best technologies are reserved for the LG G3, the manufacturer's high-end model.
