Tottenham have agreed an initial loan deal for RB Leipzig striker Timo Werner.
The Athletic reported that clubs were in talks about the former Chelsea player's return to the Premier League by the end of the 2023/24 season.
An agreement has now been reached on a loan with a purchase option in the range of 15 to 20 million euros.
Tottenham will pay Werner's full salary for the remainder of the season, with the 27-year-old required to undergo a medical as soon as possible.
Manchester United had also been monitoring Werner but he is now ready to join Ange Postecoglou's side.
RB Leipzig confirmed on Saturday that Werner will miss the friendly against St. Gallen due to transfer talks.
Werner swapped RB Leipzig for Chelsea for £47.5m in 2020 but was unable to match his goalscoring prowess in the Bundesliga and struggled to retain a regular starting place in west London.
He scored 23 goals in 89 appearances for the Stamford Bridge side, but returned to RB Leipzig in the summer of 2022 after starting just 15 times in the Premier League last season.
Werner has appeared 14 times for RB Leipzig so far this season, scoring two goals and providing one assist.
