Tottenham Player Ratings: Harry Kane is unplayable, Doherty and Kulusevski are excellent, Bentancourt shines

Hugo Lloris

The Spurs captain had no save and hardly had to touch the ball, so he was unable to get a higher mark through no fault of his own. But I got a clean slate. 6

Christian Romero

He worked hard and defended well against a rough Everton team, with the exception of one insane late tackle by Richarlison. Came out in the 52nd minute, presumably to protect him from that yellow card. 7

Eric Dyer

Aimed at the top of the crossbar after a cross from Kane in curling early in the second half. He stopped everything that got in his way. 8

Ben Davis

He played Sessegnon on the left in building up to the first goal. Well defended on the left flank. 7

Matt Doherty

His best game in the Spurs jersey by a wide margin. He went inside to the center of the field and threw Son one on one with a great ball. He then made a great first pass on Kane’s way to Tottenham’s third goal. He made another pass for the striker with an accurate throw of the ball to hit the target. nine

Pierre-Emile Hoybjerg

Workhorse performance in the center of the field, covering a lot of ground and being a nuisance. 7

Rodrigo Bentancourt

The Spurs look better with him on the sidelines. He is very calm and collected, sometimes too much, but he makes things tick and makes some crunchy tackles. 8

Ryan Sessegnon

Fired a dangerous low pass that Keane was only able to score in his own net under pressure from Kane. He showed a good attacking movement, as well as a couple of inaccurate moments in defense. However, at the very end of the half, he was injured and was replaced by Reguilon. 7

Dejan Kulusevski

Son scored on goal, becoming the Spurs’ second, and gave the second pass with his low ball to Reguilon. Showed great feet from time to time and gave Son a chance as well as Bergwijn when the Dutchman entered the pitch. I feel at home at Tottenham. nine

Harry Kane

Another one of those games where he’s just not playable. Participated in the second goal with some good left work. He continued to fall deep and gave Everton all sorts of problems. When Doherty shot in the 37th minute, he scored unmistakably and scored four goals in four matches. He then set up Dier with a great cross that the defender sent to the bar. Moments later, he landed a masterful shot from Doherty’s flying pass. 10

Son Heung Min

Another strange night for Son. He passed the ball on the edge of Everton’s penalty area for a big early chance and missed a couple of other good chances including going heads up. However, he popped up again with a goal for the team, squeezing out a kick under Pickford, and it was his movement that caused all sorts of problems for the visitors and created space for Kane to come alive. 7

Subs

Sergio Reguilon

Before the second half, the Spaniard struck instantly, scoring Spurs’ fourth goal in just 41 seconds. Worked hard with less impact after that. 7

Davinson Sanchez

He missed his head after Reguilon’s free-kick and hit the back line. 6

Stephen Bergwein

Forced Pickford to make a save shortly after entering the field after a smart passing move by Kulusevski. Keep moving and trying to do something. 6
