“I think perhaps, without realizing it, I had begun to distance myself from the rest of you and your concerns,” he wrote.
After a heartbreaking defeat to Jean-Talon, Mr Legault believes voters have expressed their dissatisfaction with his management of the third link file.
“That makes you think. And if the voters of Jean-Talon wanted to give us an electric shock, then they succeeded. When it happens, we wonder why. I know that the announcement on the 3rd link in April in of the Quebec region. It was the disregard of the given word, my word, to honor a solemn commitment for the Greater Quebec region,” added the prime minister, who says he is hurt that some consider him dishonest.
In his long publication, the head of the CAQ focused in particular on the reasons that drive the people of Quebec to want a third connection, but also those that led the government not to move forward with the project.
“We added last April that we would reconsider this decision every five years. So there is nothing surprising about my opening on Tuesday. We will think about another option that is more effective and less expensive,” said Mr. Legault, before wishing Quebecers a happy Thanksgiving weekend.
