Quebec’s Hugo Houle was third in the 13the Stage of the Tour de France that ended in Saint-Étienne on Friday. Former world champion Mads Pedersen won the stage ahead of Fred Wright.

No Quebecer had ever won a Grande Boucle.
With less than 300 meters to go, Houle was playing for the win but couldn’t match Pedersen’s speed boost that cost several bike lengths.
