Toyota was affected by the case of a customer, owner of a Toyota Highlander, whose vehicle was destroyed by Hurricane Ian last September. And apparently the car wasn’t just any car for its owner. It had over a million miles on the odometer. The brand then decided to present him with a new (and current) unit of the model.
The case took place in Florida and the lucky man was Mark Miller, who bought his Toyota in 2006. He owned the SUV for a total of 17 years, which has been very well cared for by the man after receiving all the maintenance by Deadline.
The vehicle was very important to Miller as it was his first car and used professionally.
The man who worked in a road maintenance company needed a spacious and comfortable car like the Highlander to transport cargo and use it as a work environment, for example to hold meetings.

Ian was a large, deadly, and destructive Category 4 hurricane that struck west Florida, United States, in September 2022. And one of the victims he left behind was Mark Miller’s Toyota Highlander. The vehicle sank in the flooding caused by the disaster.
Mark even bought another car from a different brand, but when Toyota USA found out about his story, they decided to present him with a new 2023 Highlander so as not to lose his loyal customer.
And how did the automaker find out about the case? Like Mark 17 years ago, he performed regular maintenance on his Toyota. He had established a certain familiarity with the employees of the brand’s dealerships. And through her, the company learned about the Highlander with more than 1.6 million kilometers destroyed by the hurricane.
The unit Miller received was a special bronze edition of the model. It stands out for its bronze details in the finish and is equipped with a hybrid engine based on a 2.5 liter petrol engine.
