Toyota is recalling about 460,000 cars in the US due to a software bug that can disable a vehicle’s electronic stability control system.
Toyota told The Associated Press that on rare occasions when the vehicle restarts, the software may not automatically put the vehicle into the “on” mode.
The recall affects vehicles manufactured between 2020 and 2022 under Toyota models such as the Venza, Mirai, RAV4 Prime, RAV4 Hybrid, Highlander Hybrid and Sienna Hybrid.
Toyota’s luxury brand Lexus is also affected by the recall. Lexus models affected by the recall include the LS500h, NX350h, LX600 and NX450h-plus.
All owners will be notified of the recall by mid-June. Dealers are running a software update to fix the issue.
