The Ile-de-France section of the French union Fdsea is announcing “five blockades” around Paris from early afternoon today, as part of the farmers' protests rocking France. In particular, the union announces road closures at five toll booths in the direction of Paris from 2 p.m. The organization had already discussed a possible “blockade” of the French capital yesterday in coordination with the local section of the “Jeunes agriculteurs” union.
The mobilization of farmers is increasing day by day and is now at the gates of Paris – from the regions where it began, in the southwest. Tractors blocked the A1 motorway north of the capital in the Oise department this morning, while the Coordination Rurale, one of the insurgent unions, claims to be targeting the “Rungis market”, the general markets just outside Paris which could be blocked. Actions multiplied throughout the area, with new blocs advancing from Normandy (north) to Perpignan (south). Some main roads around Lyon, in the center of the country, were blocked.
Anger is also growing in the agricultural world in Belgium. Walloon farmers took to the streets with their tractors to block the borders. In particular, in Battice, about thirty kilometers from Germany, and in the town of Aubange, on the southeastern border with France and Luxembourg, several rallies are taking place demanding “fair prices for their production” and “more realistic regulations”. . Farmers announce “cascade measures” next week.
