Tracy Grimshaw makes a rare public statement after raising concern with a series of alarming Instagram posts
Tracy Grimshaw has warned her fans to beware after scammers used her name to promote and sell diet pills.
On Thursday, the 63-year-old shared photos of the fake campaign with pictures of her on Instagram.
“A friend just told me about this shady gummy bear ad. Please don’t be fooled by this, it’s a scam,” she wrote.
The post featured a photoshopped photo of Tracy holding the “keto gummies” and smiling.
The ad also included a fake quote from the TV host, which read, “I didn’t even expect losing weight to raise so many questions for you — you just filled my inbox with messages!” Instead of replying to each message individually, I decided ‘to write a post on this topic.’

This comes after the notoriously private Tracy recently took extreme measures to avoid returning to the spotlight six months after her exit from A Current Affair.
The veteran reporter has reportedly won back two of journalism’s most coveted awards this year because she “wants to avoid the media frenzy” that comes with high-profile awards shows.
She initially accepted awards for her lifetime achievements from the Melbourne Press Club, but later changed her mind due to “a great commotion about the presentation of the award”.
On Thursday, Tracy shared photos of the fake campaign with pictures of herself on Instagram and wrote, “A friend just told me about this shady gummy bear ad.” Please don’t be fooled, it’s a scam.
She is said to have turned down another lifetime award from the Kennedy Awards, held in Sydney, for the same reason.
“Tracy is a no-nonsense person who doesn’t like all the fuss,” a Nine insider told The Australian’s Media Diary.
“She’s having the first gap year of her career and is relishing the chance to escape the media circus.”

Tracy is very private about her personal life, enjoying the solitude of living alone on a sprawling farm in rural New South Wales.
A previous report in New Idea magazine claimed that Grimshaw suffered from crippling “shyness” and found loneliness “less discouraging”.
“Tracy has struggled with shyness throughout her career … she’s so introverted that it even affects her day-to-day life,” a source told the mag in 2016.
“The person you see on TV is not the same person you would meet on the street,” they said of Grimshaw, who is known to exude confidence in her role on A Current Affair.
