Trans activists slam “radical religious schools” in response to Nashville mass shooting

Two trans activists are calling for an end to the conservatives’ “love affair” with “radical religious schools” in response to the Nashville mass shooting in which they appear to be blaming twisted killer Audrey Hale, 28.

Eli Erlick, who recently boasted about giving illegal cross-sex hormones to children in Mississippi, tweeted with screenshots about a story about unsubstantiated allegations that the Covenant Presbyterian Church of Nashville “covered up for a child molester” in 2013.

The Covenant School in Nashville is affiliated with the Church.

Erlick described the school where three nine-year-olds and three adults were gunned down by Hale as “a right-wing institution” — and claimed without evidence the killer was “abused” along with “many others.”

Veronica “Nikatine” Ripley, another trans activist, reposted the tweet, criticizing these institutions as a “conservative love affair.”

At this point, no allegations of abuse have been made or substantiated against the 28-year-old, although police have described the gruesome attack as “targeted” and Hale most likely “held resentment at having to go to this school.”

Erlick tweeted with no evidence, “As we learn more it will be clear that the Nashville Covenant School is a right wing institution where Audrey Hale and many others were abused.

“Obviously that’s no excuse to attack it. But there are problems with the deregulation of religious schools and the lack of psychiatric care in the US.”

A Twitter user asked how Erlick knew Hale had been at school during the alleged abuse, but received no response: “What is the source of Hale being there at the same time?”

Another user slammed Erlick, saying, “Sounds like you’ll excuse me.”

“The Nashville shooting was a transgender hate crime against a Christian school. The media will stop being cowardly and report it as if it were anti-Asian, black, or any other politically popular narrative,” said another user.

“You’re trying to put yourself in the head of a murderer. I see no point in that. The problem is easy access to very powerful weapons,” they wrote.

Hale began her attack Monday morning when she pulled into the school parking lot just before 10 a.m.

At approximately 10:13 a.m., Hale opened fire on the Covenant School, shooting and killing Evelyn Dieckhaus, Hallie Scruggs and William Kinney, all nine years old.

Substitute teacher Cynthia Peak (61), principal Dr. Katherine Koonce, 60, and caretaker Mike Hill, 61, were also killed.

Koonce worked at Covenant School alongside her daughter Anna, who serves as a faculty/student assistant.

Within 14 minutes, Hale was dead when Nashville police unveiled photos of the two officers – Rex Engelbart and Michael Collazo – who shot and killed Hale.

In a statement released late Monday night, a spokesman for the school said: “Our community is heartbroken.

“We mourn a tremendous loss and are shocked by the terror that has destroyed our school and church.

“We are focused on loving our students, our families, our faculty and staff and beginning the healing process.”
