For travelers with passports that do not benefit from the visa exemption for the Schengen area of Europe, as is the case with the Cuban passport, entry into Europe will be slightly more expensive than it is currently.

According to media reports, the European Commission recently announced that it plans to increase Schengen visa fees due to current inflation in the region. And according to studies, this increase would be 12 percent.

If the proposal is given the “green light” following a consultation process that ends on the 1st. From March, the price of the standard Schengen visa would rise from 80 euros to 90 euros for adults and from 40 euros to 45 euros for children aged 6 to 12.

The Schengen visa, one of the most popular in the world, allows its holders to travel freely within the 27 European countries of the Schengen area for a temporary stay of up to 90 days in a 180-day period.

If the project is approved, in addition to increasing to 90 euros for adults and 45 euros for children, the rate will also increase from 120 euros to 135 euros and from 160 euros to 180 euros for travelers from countries considered possible migrants.
