Travis Barkers daughter Alabama 17 reveals she has thyroid problems

Travis Barker’s daughter Alabama, 17, reveals she has ‘thyroid problems’ and an autoimmune disease and hits back at body-shamers

Travis Barker’s daughter Alabama Barker has announced that she has a “thyroid condition” and an autoimmune disease.

Barker, 17, opened up about how her health issues had impacted her recent weight gain after she was attacked by body shamers.

The aspiring musician revealed she’d recently gained 5 to 10 pounds, but expected her weight to drop once her health “balanced out.”

“I also have a thyroid problem and an autoimmune disease,” she explained via TikTok on Sunday. “So that’s one of the main reasons I gained weight.”

Targeting the trolls, she advised them, “So it would be greatly appreciated if you just kept your opinions to yourself, it would get you further in life.”

“Once my thyroid and autoimmune conditions are balanced, I will return to my normal weight, which is what is causing the weight gain.”

Alabama, whose video showed a close-up of her face, continued, “You guys act like I’ve gained a thousand pounds too.” It’s like 5-10 pounds, which is so normal for a lot of girls. Weight fluctuates and I don’t want young girls looking at this and gaining weight ever to think that something is wrong.

“There’s a certain point where you have to change something if it’s affecting your health, but no. It’s not the case for me, and I’d appreciate it if you put yourselves in my shoes.”

The daughter of Blink 182 drummer Travis Barker and model Shanna Moakler, Alabama is currently following in her father’s footsteps and pursuing a career in music.

Earlier this year, she revealed her rap ambitions when she posted a video on TikTok of herself rapping along to her new single, but quickly faced backlash from fans.

In the video, Alabama appeared with a full face makeup and sported a bright orange wig with a blonde streak.

Fans quickly noticed that the up-and-coming musician’s vocals and accent seemed to have changed once she took up rap.

One amused viewer commented on Twitter, “I don’t understand how white girls can be rich and choose to be rich?” Like I was in a swimming pool spending money somewhere.’

But Alabama resisted the criticism.

“I’m sick of people saying I don’t know anything about rap music, I didn’t grow up listening to rap music, I wasn’t anything at all,” she said, according to People on TikTok.

“So let’s take a little trip into my life because you know it so well,” the star added.

“I’ve been in the music industry since I could walk,” she said.

“I watched my dad perform in punk bands, rock bands, rap concerts and everything else. So, for the people who say, “Oh, she doesn’t know anything about rap music.”

The star, who later deleted the clip, said, “She didn’t grow up listening to rap music.” Why is she doing that? Why is she doing that? “I was influenced by rap and punk rock throughout my childhood.”

She then remarked that she knew she was privileged.

“For that I am beyond grateful and blessed.” “It is not okay for people to make fun of any culture or disrespect it at all,” she added.

“So if you don’t mind that I’m a rapper, you can just go ahead and stop commenting.”
