Punk rock runs in the Barker family — but as it turns out, Travis Barker can learn a thing or two when it comes to style from his son, Landon Barker.
On Tuesday night, Landon celebrated the launch of his co-designed collection with fashion house boohooMAN at the Desert 5 spot in Los Angeles. To mark the occasion, Landon spoke to PEOPLE about fashion, the collection and how his rock star dad influenced his style development.
“He used to dress me in cool old rock band t-shirts when I was a baby. But honestly I would say I got my dad into fashion more than he did me because when I was younger my dad only wore black dickies and for years he wore a punk rock t-shirt,” Landon, 18, tells PEOPLE of Travis’ influence on his style.

“I would just wear random stuff or just dress super fashionably. And once he started dating his wife, he started tweaking his fashion a little just so he could get on her level,” he added of his new stepmom Kourtney Kardashian, who married Travis, 46, in Portofino last month , Italy, married.
He continued, “[For] For the longest time I was even more fashionable than my father, I would say, but he really stepped it up. Now he can dress me.”
The singer-songwriter attributes his interest in fashion to the days when he was touring with his father.

“I would say even when I was younger I was touring with my dad and there would be … obviously I’d have to pack my things and go on tour because I’d be touring months at a time,” he says. “And when I went on tour, I would only wear a certain pair of black jeans. Because I just liked the fit and everyone said, ‘Change yourself, you have to wear something different.’ Or I would wear the same leather jacket every day. And that’s pretty much how I knew it. That’s how I knew I liked fashion. I knew what I liked and I knew what I didn’t like.”

When it came to the collection, Landon’s only non-negotiable thing was that it represented him “as a person” and his “rock star-ish” and “grungy punk rock style.” The collection includes pieces ranging from classic leather jackets to pinstriped trousers, distressed tees, biker jackets and tank tops with beaded details.
One of his favorites from the collection is a leather jacket with a skull pin, giving it that little Landon touch he appreciates. He also loves the jumper with eye-catching knot graphics because it gives it “old RAF Simons vibes – it’s sick”.

“I had a custom skull chain made four or five years ago and they even asked me for a photo of it. I sent a photo of it, didn’t really know what it was for and I end up seeing all the jackets [with] exactly the same skull chain but in pen form. That’s really cool,” he says of the vegan croc leather biker jacket with pin detailing.
And while the clothing collection is technically classified under the ‘men’s collections’, the punk rocker assures it’s been tailored for ‘literally everyone’.
“I don’t think it’s just for men. I think literally anyone can wear it. There are pink shirts that are sheer and mesh with cool designs on them. There are oversized leather jackets. There are oversized hoodies. There’s an iridescent skull jacket,” he says. “I think it’s very unisex, it’s for anyone and everyone who appreciates my style or the way I dress.”

At the opening party, alongside Travis, Landon’s sister, Alabama Barker, and stepsister, Atiana de la Hoya, also stepped forward in support, making the occasion a family affair. Charli and Dixie D’Amelio were also present at the celebration.
At one point, Landon also took to the stage and performed, among other things, his hit “Die in California” – which can be heard on Machine Gun Kelly’s latest album Mainstream Sellout.
