Travis Cormier has been living in Las Vegas for over a year, where he performs several nights a week. Nevertheless, his heart and commitment lie with Quebec and New Brunswick. Anyone who is preparing new songs should come back soon to give performances here.

In the summer of 2022, Travis Cormir received a call from a former roommate with whom he had lived in California a few years earlier. “He asked me if I was interested in doing a musical about Meat Load. I received the material that same evening and an online audition took place in front of the producers the next morning. Two days later I had a second audition and two weeks later I was in Las Vegas. It was pretty intense, everything happened very quickly, but I felt like it was an opportunity I couldn’t pass up.”
The former La Voix finalist took to the stage as the main character of the show “Bat Out of Hell”, whose music includes popular songs by the famous singer. But after a few months, the producers decided to stop this production. “I had a contract for a year but they canceled the show last January. I quickly had the opportunity to sing in another show, Raiding the Rock Vault, which covers rock classics and well-known songs from the 1970s and 1980s. I’m now performing in this show presented at the Hard Rock Café. »
A NEW LIFE
Travis Cormier really enjoys Las Vegas. “I love my life here because I love what I do. I am happy to be able to work in my field. Vegas is a fun city with lots going on all the time. The people I work with are super cool. It’s strange, but every day I meet people who come from New Brunswick or Quebec. There are still a lot of tourists here.”
He also loves the atmosphere and spirit of the West Coast, having lived in Los Angeles. “I met my wife back then. It’s a completely different feeling. I really like this side of the United States. The weather is cool, it’s hot all the time. I also have time to work on my songs. I’m very lucky to be here and I’m making the most of it.”
Long distance love
Fun fact: While his girlfriend Fabiola lived in Los Angeles, he lived in Montreal. And now that he’s settled in Las Vegas, she’s the one in Quebec. “We see each other regularly; I go back and forth a lot. Fabiola sings in the Montreal Rhapsody Orchestra group. She has shows almost every week, is very busy and we didn’t want her to break her contracts. But we are planning something to meet somewhere and be together.”
The couple would like to have children in the more or less distant future. “We’d like to have one someday, but let’s just say I’m not ready right away. We both have a lot to achieve professionally, but in a few years I definitely want children. It’s just not the right time right now.”

NEW THIRTY
On September 26th, Travis Cormir turned 30 years old. “Not much changes. I feel like I’m 18 or 19 again. I’m doing what I love in life, I’m having fun and I enjoy it. I still feel immature for my age. I have a lot of friends who are starting to have kids who are more responsible and I make music.
He also uses his free time to work on new compositions to release on music platforms. “I recently went to Cleveland, Ohio to work on demos with some Amsi songwriters. I also have to go to Nashville soon to write more. I want to make a new album and do shows in Quebec next year.”
