Jackson State cornerback Travis Hunter is following Deion Sanders to Colorado, he announced Wednesday, the first day of the early signing.

It didn’t take long for the former No. 1 recruit to make a decision on his next target, as he announced just two days ago that he would be entering the transfer portal.

Hunter said in a YouTube video posted to his channel, according to Yahoo Sports’ Sam Cooper:

“I made a commitment to Coach Prime at Jackson State when he was there and I want to honor my commitment and stay with him. I felt like I learned a lot with him at Jackson State, so I will stay with him so I can keep grinding, keep showing love, keep putting in the work so I can get to the next level. “

Colorado earlier this month announced Sanders’ arrival as the next head coach, and the Pro Football Hall of Famer said he plans to bring other high-profile talent to revitalize a Buffaloes roster that ended 1-1-1 this season.

Hunter joins quarterback Shedeur Sanders, son of Deion Sanders, as the youngest former Jackson State Tigers to sign for Colorado. Shedeur Sanders also made his transfer decision officially On Wednesday.

Listed as the #1 recruit in the Class of 2022, Hunter initially committed to Florida State as a high school prospect before flipping his commitment to Jackson State.

A true freshman in 2022, the 19-year-old proved effective on both sides of the ball. He recorded two interceptions, 10 pass breakups, and one fumble recovery while playing at defense. The 6’1″ star also caught 18 passes for 188 yards and four touchdowns as a receiver.

It’s reasonable to think that given his speed and talent, Hunter will play a similar role under Sanders in Colorado.

Before settling on Colorado, Hunter also considered Georgia, according to 247Sports recruiting analyst Rusty Mansell. He added that Miami and USC would try to get into the mix for the Speedster.
