Taylor Swift has officially begun the South American leg of her Eras Tour, but Kansas City Chiefs star Travis Kelce wasn’t among the more than 80,000 fans who filled the Estadio Monumental in Buenos Aires on Thursday.
The 34-year-old NFL star was spotted in Kansas City at teammate Patrick Mahomes’ 15th and The Mahomies Foundation Gala.
During the event, Kelce was praised for his latest major career milestone when he became the Kansas City Chiefs’ all-time leading receiver during the team’s game against the Miami Dolphins.
Although he wasn’t in South America on Swift’s opening night, Kelce – who is currently enjoying his farewell week – hinted at his upcoming travel plans on Wednesday’s episode of the New Heights podcast as he talked about how to spend his free time.
“I could just say screw it and go somewhere nice. My skin is getting really pale, so I have to go somewhere sunny,” Travis said. “Somewhere in the south, closer to the equator.”
ET exclusively reported last month that Kelce would be by Swift’s side as she began her international tour. A source told ET at the time that the duo was fully committed to their relationship and the future.
“Travis and Taylor are totally into it. The two are very much in love with each other and enjoy their time together, but also plan for the future. Taylor is kicking off her international tour in November and Travis plans to be there to spend time with her.” the source said. “Travis and Taylor are very serious about their careers, and the two are bonding over it and want to support each other, whenever they can.”
Swift performs in Buenos Aires from Thursday to Saturday.
This is Kelce’s first Eras Tour concert since he attended their show on July 8 during their stay at Arrowhead Stadium in Kansas City. That same month, Kelce revealed during an episode on New Heights that he wanted to take his shot with her, but to no avail.
“I was disappointed that she doesn’t speak before or after her performances because she has to save her voice for the 44 songs she sings,” he explained. “It hurt me a little that I couldn’t give her one of the bracelets I made for her.”

The friendship bracelet, Kelce said, contained his phone number.
“She’s not seeing anyone,” he said, “at least she didn’t want to meet me, so I took it personally.”
In September, the “Blank Space” singer attended the Kansas City Chiefs’ game against the Chicago Bears at Arrowhead Stadium, which marked the start of a flurry of Swift-centric promotions from the NFL. Since then, the “Anti-Hero” singer has competed in a series of games in support of No. 87, sparking a whirlwind romance that has captivated the world.
