Travis Kelce says his new romance with Taylor Swift has made him happier than he was when his team won the Super Bowl earlier this year.
The Chiefs star spoke to the media on Friday afternoon and was asked about his state of mind with his every move receiving so much more attention.
“With all the attention coming, I feel like I’m on top of the world after the Super Bowl and even more on top of the world now,” he said.
“There are a lot of people who care about Taylor, and for good reason. “I have to keep living, learning and enjoying the moments.
“We learn that the paparazzi take photos everywhere, but that’s part of it.”
Swift managed to watch Kelce in his last two games for the Chiefs, but it is not yet known whether she will be there to watch Minnesota’s game against the Vikings on Sunday.
Kelce, who turned 34 this week, insisted the new attention won’t distract him from football.
“I’ve always been pretty good at compartmentalizing myself in this building and staying focused. “I’m just going to keep working with this man.
“Everyone has fun with it, whether I think they’re overdoing it or not.” I know I brought that myself, and I’m lucky to have fun with it. “The only thing that really matters is that it doesn’t upset anyone, at least not here.”
Earlier this week, Kelce seemed unwilling to go into too much detail about things between him and the pop star.
On the latest episode of his New Heights podcast — which he co-hosts with his brother Jason, who plays for the Philadelphia Eagles — he criticized the NFL for the amount of attention it paid to Swift when she attended its games.
NBC spoke to Swift 17 times during Sunday’s game, prompting Kelce to say, “Damn, that’s crazy.” That’s like one ride. Mom told me everyone had fun.
“They’re not there to be shown on TV.” You never know you’re going to get caught throwing down a big ol’ cheeseburger and looking like an idiot.
“There are certain things you just don’t want to see on TV all the time.”
Swift was at the game in New York with some of her high-profile friends, including Ryan Reynolds, his wife Blake Lively and Hugh Jackman.
Otherwise, Travis didn’t address the Taylor links on his podcast – he and his brother kept joking about other celebrities watching the game without ever mentioning their presence.
