The musician has been embroiled in litigation following the tragedy at the 2021 Astroworld Festival, in which ten people died and numerous injuries were sustained during a crowd at his concert on November 5, 2021 in Houston.
The tax lien comes weeks after Scott was hit with another Astroworld lawsuit.
In the filing, Scott and Live Nation were accused of “negligence and willful misconduct” by a company called Ceremony of Roses (CoR), according to The Blast.
The company claims it suffered “significant financial loss” as a result of investing in the festival.
Earlier this month, Scott revealed he was “devastated” by the Astroworld disaster.
Scott, who previously broke his silence on the tragedy in 2021, told GQ he thinks about the disaster “all the time” and in the two years since, as he worked on his comeback album Utopia, ” “difficult moments”.
Those killed, aged between 9 and 27, died of compression asphyxia, which one expert compared to being crushed by a car.
Scott said, “When you make music, you think about things that happen in life and things that happen in a life, and you notice things.” This moment was devastating for families and for the city. And when it came to making the album, even finishing it, I probably went back to it, I don’t know, months and months later.

“I mean, I was just too devastated, you know? Yes… Yes, I always think about it. These fans were like my family. You know, I love my fans more than anything.
“There are moments when it gets hard and…yeah. You just feel sorry for these people. And their families.
The star also revealed his attempt to promote Houston as a city that could rival New York and Los Angeles and inspire children had been “ruined” – after previously saying he wanted a “hometown hero” and not be a “hero”. Villain.’
In December 2021, Scott spoke about the November 5th tragedy and sat down with podcaster Charlemagne Tha God for an interview
In the interview, Scott blamed his In-Ear persona for not urging him to stop the show early, claiming he was unaware of and not responsible for the deadly stampede and crush
Scott said he was “1,000 percent” sure he did everything he could to prevent the tragedy, claiming he didn’t hear the screams and cries for help as the crowd spiraled out of control.
“Things happen, you know, and it’s just been one of those times, and I’m just trying to really figure things out,” he said when asked why he broke his silence.

“My heart wasn’t there to be the villain – I was there to be a hometown hero.”
Scott struggled at times to contain his emotions as he spoke about the families who lost loved ones in the stampede.
“They’ve lost their loved ones, I just want to always be there for them, I’m going to solve this problem and make sure something like this doesn’t happen in the future and be the number one voice for that.” “We have to figure it out,” said he.
Scott claimed that he was only told the show would end after the guest referring to Drake took the stage.
He said he was never told why the show ended or what was happening in the crowd.
“That’s what came through my ear,” he said.
Scott accused the media of blaming him for the tragedy.
“Yeah, you know, the media wants to push it on me, but at the end of the day I don’t think it’s more about that, it’s more about getting involved and finding out what the problem is,” he said. “Yeah, you know, I’m the face of the festival, I’m an artist, so yeah.”
No charges were filed against Scott following an investigation by Houston police after a grand jury in June declined to indict him and five others on felony charges related to the deadly concert.

A judge earlier this year scheduled the first hearing on the lawsuits for May 6, 2024. This first trial would take place almost 2.5 years after the fatal concert.
Documents filed in court in April listed more than 1,500 active lawsuits, many of which were filed against Scott and Live Nation, the concert promoter.
Of these, 992 were cases of physical injuries and 313 were cases of “emotional distress, pain, suffering and mental anguish.” Orthopedic surgery was performed in 17 of these cases, and other surgeries were recommended in another 21 cases.
Some of the lawsuits have since been settled, including those filed by the families of three of those killed at the concert.
