A civil sexual assault lawsuit against Trey Songz was dismissed after legal documents proved the statute of limitations on the allegations had expired, TMZ reports.

A woman, who identified herself as Jane Doe in court documents, had claimed Songz, 38, forced her to have anal sex against her consent at a house party in Los Angeles on March 26, 2016.

The woman said Songz acted like a “raging rapist” during a sexual encounter in which she screamed and begged him to stop what he was doing – but that Songz physically overpowered her. He has vehemently denied the allegations.

At the time of the alleged attack (prior to January 1, 2019), the statute of limitations in California for filing a civil sexual assault lawsuit was two years.

Six years after the alleged rape, the alleged victim filed a complaint. She sued Songz for $20 million in damages.

The publication reports that Songz’s lawsuit was dismissed on Monday after the star’s lawyers successfully argued that the statute of limitations expired long before the alleged victim reported the complaint.

Songz’ rep told TMZ when the allegations surfaced earlier this year that “the allegations in this complaint are false” and that the slow motion singer “looks forward to the facts being aired in full.”

The singer faces no criminal charges following an investigation by the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department.

“LVMPD has completed its investigation into the sexual assault allegations against Tremaine Neverson and has determined that no criminal charges will be pursued,” the department said in a statement released via local 8newsnow.

“Should new evidence come to light, the case will be reopened for further investigation.”

Police officials confirmed no arrests were made at the time, and Songz cooperated with police throughout the investigation.

His attorneys told TMZ, “We are pleased that Trey Songz has been cleared of wrongdoing and that the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department’s investigation has officially been closed.”

They added: “We are grateful to the LVMPD for the professional policing and thorough investigation that included finding conflicting testimonies and insufficient evidence. We’re excited that Trey can now return to what he does best: entertainment.’

The woman had been represented by attorneys Ariel Mitchell and George Vrabeck, who are involved in two other cases in Miami and Nevada alleging Songz’s sexual assault.

In the Miami case, a woman posing as Jauhara Jeffries said Songz inserted his finger inside her vagina without her consent while she was dancing on a couch at E11VEN nightclub on New Year’s Eve 2017.

Ex-UNLV basketball player Dylan Gonzalez claimed Songz sexually assaulted her at a Las Vegas hotel years ago, in a statement posted online in January.

“With seemingly endless recurring news stories about Trey Songz’s alleged sexual assault, I’m forced to keep reliving and re-suffering the long repressed horror and excruciating PTSD of my being raped at the hands of his own hands at a fountain in my well-known hotel in Las Vegas,” Gonzalez wrote on Instagram.

“I want to send my love, strength and hope to all who are victims of sexual assault and its deadly nature. You are not alone.’
