Kai Cyre, the aunt of Tristan Thompson’s eldest child, Prince Oliver Thompson, criticized the NBA player as an absentee parent to the six-year-old and discouraged Kim Kardashian from publicly praising him for his upbringing.
Cyre, a 31-year-old nurse and the sister of Prince’s mother Jordan Craig, expressed her displeasure on Instagram on Thursday about the lack of time, attention and financial resources that Thompson, 32, has allocated for his first-born child.
Cyre told more than 255,000 Instagram followers that she broke her usual protocol of not speaking publicly on the issue after seeing Thompson – who is the father of three other children – publicly portrayed as a loving parent .
“It was so hard not to speak out, and out of respect for my sister’s privacy I haven’t done so in over seven years, but this is just too much,” said Cyre, whose full name is Kaicyre Palmers.
Cyre said: “It’s so painful to see Tristan find the time to do these beautiful things for others but can’t seem to show up and be a real parent to my nephew Prince.”

Cyre called out Kim for praising Thompson’s parenting skills in the latest episode of the family’s Hulu series “The Kardashians.”
“Kim Kardashian, I don’t want you to think that you are so insensitive to the fact that he literally ignores his children,” she said. “It’s nice if he was a good friend to you, but let’s think of our sisters before we take to global platforms to defend this man’s character.”
Cyre said the professional basketball player, who was re-signed by his longtime team, the Cleveland Cavaliers, last month, has not paid his child support for Prince.
“Tristan hasn’t paid child support in a very long time and he hasn’t paid Prince’s school fees,” she said. “Despite this, he is praised for picking up and dropping off other children to school/activities.”
Cyre said Thompson “didn’t even ask where Prince goes to school now.”
She credited her sister with working “multiple jobs” so that “Prince never has to feel a difference in his standard of living.”

The controversial social media post came after this week’s edition of The Kardashians, in which Kim revealed the real reason why she is still friends with her sister’s cheating ex-boyfriend, Thompson.
Tristan dated Kim’s sister Khloe, 39, on and off from 2016 to 2021, but was hit with multiple cheating allegations when Khloe was pregnant with their daughter True, now five.
Khloe forgave him, but unfortunately in February 2019, news broke that Thompson had kissed Jordyn Woods at a party in Los Angeles.
The couple patched things up within just two days but then decided to call it quits in June 2021.
At the end of the year, Maralee Nichols announced that she was pregnant with his child. In August 2022, Khloe welcomed her son Tatum via surrogate.
But now Kim has rushed to the basketball player’s side and admitted that he is a “really good person”.
On this week’s episode of The Kardashians, Kim also revealed how Tristan stood up for her as a single mother following her split from ex-husband Kanye West.
