This Thursday (June 2nd) the streets of London were taken over by the parade Trooping the Colora British waking event that has been held in England for centuries, celebrating the ‘official’ anniversary of the Queen Elizabeth the second.
The Queen made her first and only appearance of the day when she appeared on the balcony of Buckingham Palace to accompany the arrival of the military as well as the traditional Royal Air Force flight ticket. The monarch wore a blue dress and used the cane that belonged to her late husband, the Duke of Edinburgh, and was accompanied by her cousins, grandchildren and greatgrandchildren.
This was the first of many events to take place over the weekend Platinum Anniversaryafter becoming Britain’s first Queen to celebrate her 70th jubilee.

The annual celebration includes a military parade down The Mall, the city’s main thoroughfare, stretching from Buckingham Palace to Admiralty Arch. The Royal Family then gathers on the balcony of Buckingham Palace to watch a Royal Air Force flyby.

For the event to take place, 1400 soldiers, 200 horses and 400 musicians are brought together for a military march through the streets of London.

Platinum Anniversary
The monarch is celebrating her 70th reigning anniversary, her Platinum Jubilee, and the weekend will be followed by a series of events around this historic landmark.
To celebrate the special date, Buckingham Palace declared a fourday public holiday between Thursday and Sunday (5th) during which various celebrations will take place: from a large concert with the presence of idols like Queen, to small street parties hosted by Communities are organized throughout the territory she governs.
At 96, she will become the first British monarch to celebrate 70 years on the throne and is already the secondoldest monarch in world history.
