Tropical Depression #3 continued to increase in organization and intensity during the afternoon of June 19, evolving into a tropical storm named Bret.

As of 5 p.m., its central region was at 11.3 degrees north latitude and 42.2 degrees west longitude, putting it 2,085 kilometers east of the southern group of Lesser Antilles.

Bret has a central pressure of 1008 HectoPascals and is moving west at a speed of 33 kilometers per hour. Maximum sustained winds rose to 40 miles per hour, with stronger gusts.

Tropical Storm Bret will continue to gain organization and intensity over the next 12 to 24 hours as it moves on a similar course and at a similar rate across the open waters of the central Atlantic.

The next tropical cyclone warning for this system will be issued at 6:00 p.m. tomorrow, Tuesday.
