Tropical Storm Bret is forming east of the Caribbean Arc and heading towards the Lesser Antilles Martinique on 1 Overseas on 1

This Monday, June 19, 2023 at 5 p.m., the National Cyclone Center in Miami confirms that the tropical depression in the Atlantic Ocean east of the Antilles has intensified. The cyclone phenomenon named Tropical Storm Bret is moving toward the Lesser Antilles.

Tropical Storm Bret originated in the central Atlantic. The islands of the Lesser Antilles would be hit by bad weather towards the end of the week.

Tropical Storm Bret is located at 11.3° N, 42.2° W, 2085 km east of the Caribbean Arc. The winds, which extend 75 km from the center, are already blowing at 65 km/h.

Bret is moving west at 33 km/h.

Residents of the islands in the Caribbean arc need to follow the development of this storm, which would develop into a cyclone before the end of the week.

A tropical wave moves hundreds of kilometers south-southwest in the Cape Verde Islands.

Conditions are favorable for this system to develop into a tropical depression by the end of the week.

The wave is moving east at a speed of between 16 and 24 km/h.

According to the NHC, there is a 50 percent chance that this wave will turn into a tropical storm in the next few days.
