Donald Trump didn’t rest this Sunday either. The weekend had started for him with assurances that he would be arrested next Tuesday as part of the investigation into alleged $130,000 payments, just ahead of the 2016 election that took him to the White House to buy the silence on porn star Stormy Daniels. He also encouraged his supporters on Saturday to “protest” to “regain the country.” A little over 24 hours later, the former president returned to his favorite pulpit, Truth Social, a social network he founded after his 2021 sacking from Twitter, and accused President Joe Biden of complicity in the “witch hunts” that are ending could with his arrest.
Trump sent the following message (Caps, citing his): “Biden wants to pretend he had nothing to do with the Manhattan District Attorney’s attack on democracy when in fact he ‘stuffed’ the District Attorney’s office with people from the Department.” hat of injustice, including a senior officer of that department in DC [demarcación que alberga la Capital Federal], who actually directs the “Horseface” witch hunt. Bragg is a (Soros) reverse racist who takes orders from DC. I beat them TWICE, was much better the second time, and despite their DISINFORMATION campaign, they don’t want to go up against “TRUMP” or my GREAT RECORD!
“Horseface” is the nickname given to Daniels, the plaintiff, by Trump, who has the flair for cruelty of a schoolyard bully. The literal translation is “horse face”. Soros is millionaire progressive philanthropist George Soros, one of the black beasts of the American right. And Bragg is Alvin Bragg, the African-American prosecutor (hence the “reverse racist”) who, suspecting Trump and his gang, is about to indict the tycoon, which would lead to his arrest in New York.
With his message on Saturday, Trump turned American political and media circles upside down. In it he warned that his arrest would take place this Tuesday. If it happens, it would mark a historic milestone and cause an earthquake with unpredictable consequences across the United States. Not only would it be the first time a former president has been fingerprinted or asked for bail, it would also mean seriously impeding a candidate’s race for the 2024 presidential election that he, if he was from his party would most likely face Biden in a repeat of the fight in which they were measured in the 2020 election.
Trump also alludes to this moment in his Sunday speech and says: “I beat them.” [a los demócratas] TWICE” and also that it was “much better the second time around”. With that, he returns to lend wings to the theories he couldn’t prove that he was then robbed at the elections. These hoaxes, as demonstrated by the Congressional Commission of Inquiry into the events of January 6, 2021, led to the attack on the Capitol. The rhetoric of the call for protests addressed to his supporters on Saturday was reminiscent of the messages before this uprising.
Prosecutor Bragg responded to those threats hours later with an email sent to staffers at the Manhattan DA’s office. Received by Politico, he told them he had no intention of tolerating “attempts of intimidation.” “[Nos aseguraremos] that any specific or credible threats against the office are fully investigated and that appropriate security measures are taken.” These days US media reported on meetings between the various local, state and federal agencies to discuss how best to respond to the prepare for the consequences of a Trump arrest.

The week begins in Manhattan, according to CNN, with appearances before the grand jury examining the case of a witness whose identity has not been released. It’s also not clear if it will be the last before the former president’s possible impeachment. A few days ago, his defense attorneys received an invitation for Trump to testify. This gesture can be interpreted as a prelude to a timely indictment, given the conventions of the US judicial system.
The Republicans close the ranks
For now, the Republican Party has closed ranks around its still-rising figure. This defense also came from some of his early challengers for the primary nomination, such as Mike Pence, who was his vice president, or anti-Wake millionaire Vivek Ramaswamy. His big enemy at home, Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis, had not responded to the news this Sunday.
Trump faces multiple investigations, from the one being led by a special prosecutor into the classified documents the FBI found at his private residence in Mar-a-Lago, Fla. last summer, to which he is attempting to recover his Eliminate responsibility for pressuring Republican officials to reverse the outcome of the 2020 election. Of all, it could be a porn actress’ complaint that ends with her arrest.
The lowdown dates back to 2006, when Trump invited Daniels to a Louisiana hotel room after a celebrity golf tournament. There they had sexual relations, according to the actress, after he promised to help her break into television, where the then-magnate, who denies the allegations, was a star.
What Bragg and his people are judging is whether, a decade later, his ex-attorney Michael Cohen paid Daniels $130,000 to sedate her just before the election in which Trump defeated Hillary Clinton. Cohen pleaded guilty in 2018 to passing the money to the actress in violation of federal campaign finance rules.
