Sensitive to criticism, Donald Trump reacted badly to claims that he was responsible for the chaos caused by his supporters who invaded the US Congress following his defeat in the 2020 election.

“You are dishonest, a fool,” the former President of the United States shot at journalist Piers Morgan. “Turn off the cameras,” he ordered. It was not obeyed.

Detail: Trump and Piers are longtime friends. The discussion took place during the taping for TalkTV’s Piers Uncensored, which airs Monday (25th) in the UK.

Angry, the conservative politician even got up to leave. “You’re not real, you’re fake,” he told the interviewer. “No, I’m just being brutally honest,” replied Morgan, an incorrigible polemicist who has angered countless rulers and celebrities.

After the journalist released excerpts from the recording that portrayed Donald Trump as arrogant and outdated, the former president’s staff said the images were edited to mislead the press and public and to lure an audience. They said the interview was “misleading and boring.”

The “climate” began hours before Piers and his team arrived at the MaraLago resort in Florida, where Trump took up residence after leaving the White House.

The politician received a dossier with the transcript of dozens of negative comments made by the journalist on television during his presidency.

“What the hell is that?” Trump asked, holding up the pages of the poll when he found Piers. He threatened not to record the interview, but decided to do so anyway. As “proof of his betrayal” he gave the moderator a copy of the dossier.

Piers and Trump became close in 2008 when the journalist won an edition of business reality show The Celebrity Apprentice (the Brazilian version was called O Aprendiz) hosted by the New York magnate.

Since both are openly vain and enjoy appearing in the media, they may have staged the alleged conflict to grab headlines and gain valuable selfpromotion. “Speak badly, but speak of me,” swear the egomaniacs.
