Trump creates greeting cards and sells 45,000 in 12 hours

The former US president offers digital figurines with pictures of himself, for example, in a superhero costume. He charges $99 a piece – the collection sold out within twelve hours.

Former US President Donald Trump made a “huge announcement” – and then unveiled a sticker collection for fans on Thursday. For $99 each, fans can purchase glorified digital drawings of the 76-year-old: Trump in a superhero costume (including abs), Trump on a white horse and US flag, Trump on a blue and red elephant.

Despite the high unit price, the collection – 45,000 pieces – sold out in twelve hours, according to data from OpenSea. Together, there are US$ 4.45 million raised with the campaign.

“Your Favorite President Ever”

The associated promotional video began with an anthem of praise for Trump, who wants to run for the White House again in 2024: “Hello everyone, this is Donald Trump speaking. I hope this is your favorite president ever – better than Lincoln, better than Washington.” Trading cards featured “amazing artwork” that reflected his life and career, he said.

Also, those who buy tickets can win “big prizes”, including dinner with Trump himself: “I don’t know if it’s a grand prize, but it’s what we have,” Trump said. The former president, who continues to deny his loss to Joe Biden in 2020, spoke in a “big announcement” on Wednesday on the “Truth Social” platform he co-founded, sparking speculation.
