The Justice Department is poised to press charges against several people associated with former President Donald Trump and could press more charges against the ex-president in the coming weeks, The Independent has learned.

According to sources familiar with the matter, the ministry has made preparations to bring a so-called “superstitute indictment” against the ex-president – a second set of charges against an already indicted defendant, which could include more serious crimes could do so in different places, depending on how prosecutors view the case they have brought against him in federal court in Florida.

Mr Trump’s other legal woes also appear to be worsening. Former campaign manager Mike Roman is reported to have been working with investigators investigating his efforts to overturn the 2020 election.

Sources told CNN on Thursday that Mr Roman, who was involved in the voter fraud scheme, reached a settlement with Special Counsel Jack Smith’s office. Rudy Giuliani is also said to have made such an agreement.

Meanwhile, three investors in the Special Purpose Acquisition Company (SPAC), which took Trump Media & Technology Group public, have been charged with insider trading.

Biden blames the GOP for the student loan decision

President Joe Biden on Friday insisted that “this fight is not over” after the Supreme Court rejected his $400 billion student loan forgiveness plan. Biden blamed the Republican opposition and wanted to direct the wrath of millions of borrowers on them, rather than on his own party, in next year’s election.

The President scheduled an afternoon address to lay out a series of measures to continue providing assistance to the 43 million student loan borrowers, while trying to continue the political offensive against the Republicans.

“These are cops,” said the Democrat from Minnesota tweeted. She had similar words at Walgreens announced As of March of this year, no abortion pills were being distributed in states where abortion remained legal.

Eric Garcia spoke to Ms Smith for The Independent.

Full article: Biden unveils ‘new way’ for student debt relief

President Biden on Friday attacked Republican state officials and lawmakers who supported the lawsuit that allowed the Supreme Court to reject his student debt relief initiative, accusing many of them of hypocrisy for spending money from pandemic-era aid programs and had taken relatively poor relief for student borrowers.

“Some of the same Republican-elect congressmen who were outspokenly opposed to student relief got hundreds of thousands of dollars themselves…several congressmen got over a million dollars — all of those loans are made,” he said.

“The hypocrisy is breathtaking,” he said.

Andrew Feinberg in Washington, D.C. and Alex Woodward in New York submitted this report.

Trump makes predictions for Georgia in his latest complaint-laden tirade

Here’s what the twice impeached and twice impeached former President posted on Truth Social this afternoon:

I expect that the racist Atlanta District Attorney’s Office, Fani Willis, with the WORST crime rate per capita in the country where killers “get away with murder” and are rarely charged and almost never prosecuted, will drop all charges against me for lack of one case. As President of the United States, I called, perfectly legally, about an election that I believe was rigged and stolen. NONE of the MANY LAWYERS in the conversation took notice of my words or even hinted that I did anything wrong. FRAUD!

Attorney Ron Filipkowski noted the odd timing of the prediction:
