Trump praises Putin and denigrates US leaders in the CPAC
Donald Trump and a lawyer who is supporting his re-election campaign were part of a “criminal conspiracy” to cancel the 2020 election, according to a court file from the congressional investigation into the January 6 Capitol riots.
“The facts we have gathered clearly suggest that Dr. Eastman’s emails may indicate that he helped Donald Trump develop a corruption scheme to prevent the counting of college ballots and a conspiracy to prevent the transfer of authorities, Benny Thompson and Liz Cheney, who chaired the commission of inquiry on January 6, said in a statement.
Among the documents released is an image of Mr. Trump’s personal schedule for the day, which includes various names scribbled with a pen. Among them is Kelly Lofler, a Georgia senator who lost his seat the night before the uprising.
On Thursday, Mr Trump unleashed a chaotic 415-word tirade against the commission, reiterating allegations of “rigged” elections.
Meanwhile, Trump still refuses to directly criticize Vladimir Putin. Speaking to Maria Bartiromo of Fox Business, the president said the war Russia started in Ukraine was “a Holocaust”.
However, his main sentence was that “the biggest problem we have is that our president and our country are no longer respected” and that the solution is “to reach a deal”.

Yesterday, the House of Representatives adopted a resolution reaffirming its solidarity with the people of Ukraine as they fight the devastating Russian invasion of their country. But while 426 members of the House backed him, three voted against.
All three are Republicans: Paul Gossar of Arizona (known for associating with white nationalists), Thomas Massey of Kentucky (who has been repeatedly accused of voting against uncontested bipartisan legislation), and Matt Rosendale of Montana.

More details on the Guilfoyle summons
From the House Committee investigating the Capitol Revolt:
“The elected committee has evidence that Gilfoil was in direct contact with key figures, raised funds for the rally just before the violent attack on the Capitol, and participated in the event.
“The selection committee learned that Gilfoil met with Donald Trump and members of his family in the Oval Office on the morning of January 6, 2021, when the then president last spoke to Vice President Pence (by phone) before a joint session of Congress.
“She also apparently communicated with others about the then president’s decision on who he was and was not allowed to speak at the Ellipse rally, including concerns that he shared the scene with people including Ali Alexander, Alex Jones and Roger Stone.
“As Ms Guilfoil waived her initial commitment to provide a voluntary interview, we are issuing today’s subpoena, which will force her to testify. We expect her to obey the law and cooperate. “
