Trump Organization sentenced to maximum fine for tax evasion

That is the maximum sentence that the American judiciary could impose in this case. Former US President Donald Trump’s family business, the Trump Organization, was fined $1.6 million in New York on Friday, Jan. 13 for financial fraud and taxes, the authorities said Manhattan Attorney’s Office in a statement with testimony.

The group of American billionaires, candidate for the Republican Party nomination for the 2024 presidential election, has been taken to court for tax evasion and falsification of accounting statements, specifically with the aim of hiding financial compensation from certain high-ranking executives from the tax authorities.

Beginning in October 2023, Donald Trump will perform in New York, along with three of his children, Donald Jr., Eric and Ivanka, who, like them, have been accused of fraudulent tax practices within the Trump Organization. But it will be a civil trial.

New York State Attorney General Letitia James accused the Trump family of “deliberately” manipulating the valuations of the company’s assets in order to obtain cheaper loans from banks or even lower its taxes. On behalf of the state, she is demanding $250 million in damages and a ban on the ex-president and his family from running companies.
