American President Joe Biden is preparing to address the nation (and allies) in the next few days after Congress cut off funding for aid to Kyiv. But the political wound inflicted by Republicans is bleeding, and their leader Donald Trump is pouring salt into it tonight. “Why doesn’t this corrupt Joe Biden ensure that Europe donates $175 billion less to Ukraine than it paid compared to the USA?” is the sharp attack from the former president and candidate for re-election to the White House. Trump does not skimp on criticism of the Old Continent and even reiterates his line of stopping aid deliveries to Kiev: “No further doubling of spending must be made until Europe equals the amount that America has spent on the defense of ‘Ukraine’,” shouts (literally) the tycoon on his social platform Truth. An imbalance that, according to Trump, “has harmed our military and our readiness and greatly reduced our weapons inventory.” Just over a year before the US presidential election, it is now becoming increasingly clear to the authorities in Kiev what the greatest international threat is to the stability of its armed forces in the war against Russia.
