Donald Trump’s first public reaction to Ron DeSantis’ comments about a possible indictment was to repeatedly baseless allegations that the Florida governor had inappropriate relationships with “underage” classmates.
The short, two-sentence post contained several suggestions – including that the governor is inexperienced due to his age, as well as questions about his sexuality and whether he’s had inappropriate interactions with men.
Trump, 76, warned DeSantis, 44, that he would soon have to endure more “false accusations and fake stories” with his rising national prominence as a leader within the Republican Party.
The post on Truth Social came after DeSantis broke his silence on a possible impending indictment by attacking “Soros-funded” Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg during his press conference on Monday.
Trump also used his new favorite governor’s name — Ron “DeSanctimonious” — as it quickly became the biggest threat to the former president’s chances of the nomination.
Donald Trump responded to Ron DeSantis’ comments about a possible indictment by repeating claims that the Florida governor and former teacher had inappropriate relationships with his students – and implying that he had such relationships with men as well
Ron DeSantis broke his silence on an alleged impending indictment by attacking Soros-funded Manhattan Attorney Alvin Bragg for creating a “manufactured circus.”
DeSantis slammed Bragg for creating a “manufactured circus” in his initial comments since rumors surfaced that Trump would be indicted as early as Tuesday, and shortly thereafter urged his supporters to “protest” any arrests.
“Ron DeSanctimonious will likely learn about FALSE ACCOUNTS and FALSE STORIES at some point in the future as he gets older, wiser and better known, when he is unfairly and illegally assaulted by a woman, even by classmates who are ‘underage’ (or possibly a man!),’ Trump wrote.
“I’m sure he’ll want to fight these misfits as much as I do!” The former president added in the post on his Truth Social platform.
Trump’s inner circle has criticized DeSantis — and other announced and perceived 2024 hopefuls — for remaining silent on claims the former president will be arrested Tuesday in the Stormy Daniels hush money case.
It shows how the recent legal twist poses a dilemma for Trump’s likely rival for the 2024 Republican nomination – will they speak out against the former president over his leaks, or stay away for fear of angering his vocal, restless base?
DeSantis managed to do both on Monday, saying he didn’t know “what it takes to pay a porn star hush money to keep quiet about some sort of alleged affair,” before accusing Bragg of ignoring rising crime in New York and going after it instead Trump card.
“So I’ve seen rumors swirl, I haven’t seen any facts yet,” he said. “The Manhattan District Attorney is a Soros-funded prosecutor.
Trump wrote on Truth Social that DeSantis will encounter more “false allegations and fake stories” like the ex-president’s claims he has endured
“He, like other Soros-funded prosecutors, is weaponizing their office to impose a political agenda on society at the expense of the rule of law and public safety.
“He’s downgraded over 50 percent of felonies to misdemeanors. He says he doesn’t even want to go to jail for the vast majority of crimes.
“What I can talk to is when you have a prosecutor who ignores crimes that happen every day in his jurisdiction and he decides to go back many, many years to try and use something about porn star hush payments.
“You know, this is an example of pursuing a political agenda and arming the Bureau.”
Bragg’s office is believed to be at the end of its investigation into paying adult film star Stormy Daniels to keep her quiet about an affair with Trump – allegations he has long denied.
His office is not funded by Soros, although his campaign to become district attorney received $1 million from Political Action Committee Color Of Change, a racial justice group backed by the Hungarian-born financial billionaire.
Soros is a popular target for conservatives. Since the Jan. 6 attack on Congress, he has used his vast fortune to support candidates he says promote democracy and the rule of law.
But extremists across the internet have taken to his family history to suggest he is part of a Jewish conspiracy secretly holding the levers of power.
George Soros has reportedly poured at least $40 million into electing liberal district attorneys

Trump’s eldest son, Don Jr., hit back at DeSantis, saying he was weak to suggest Democrats “arming the law to impeach President Trump” isn’t really a problem
In his comments during a press conference, DeSantis also made it clear that he would not interfere in the Trump case.
“I have real issues to deal with here in Florida state,” he said.
“We have so many things pending before the legislature. I have to spend my time on issues that really matter to people.
“I can’t spend my time worrying about things like that.”
Trump-allied Make America Great Again PAC has slammed DeSantis for dismissing the issue.
“Democrats abusing the justice system to attack Republicans is a real problem that affects all Americans,” reads one email blast.
And Donald Trump Jr. accused the Florida governor of being weak.
Trump used a social media post on Saturday to call on his supporters to protest as he claimed to be arrested as early as Tuesday. Helpers say they don’t know when
The New York Young Republicans Club is hosting a protest Monday night. “Join us in peaceful protest against Alvin Bragg’s heinous attack on President Donald J. Trump…” it reads
“So DeSantis thinks Dems arming the law to impeach President Trump is a ‘manufactured circus’ and not a ‘real problem.’ Sheer weakness,” he tweeted.
‘Now we know why he’s been silent all weekend. It is wholly owned by Karl Rove, Paul Ryan and their billionaire donors. 100 percent controlled opposition.’
Meanwhile, the New York Police Department prepares for the worst.
New York police cordoned off the court complex in Manhattan Monday morning for fear of violent demonstrations.
This includes the public prosecutor’s office.
In an email to staff on Saturday, first reported by Politico, Bragg sought to reassure prosecutors and other members of his office that he had been working with police and court officials to keep them safe.
“We will not tolerate attempts to intimidate our office or threaten the rule of law in New York,” he wrote. “Our law enforcement partners will ensure that any specific or credible threats against the office are fully investigated.”
