Former US President Donald Trump has raised the possibility of choosing a woman as his running mate if he wins the Republican Party’s 2024 presidential primary. During an interview with NBC News, Trump said he likes the concept. and that he will try to select the best person for the position.
In the same interview, Trump mentioned Kristi Noem, the current governor of South Dakota, as a potential vice presidential candidate. Noem expressed her support for the former president last week during a Republican event in her state, where attendees displayed signs with both politicians’ names on them.
Trump praised Noem, calling her a fantastic governor who has provided solid support for him.
However, it is noted that there are other prominent people in the Republican Party who would also be considered for the position. Early primary polls show Trump retains a firm grip on Republican voters compared to his rivals, Bloomberg reports. However, the legal proceedings against him could affect his campaign plan.
