Former President Donald Trump toured a new golf course in Scotland in a coat and ski hat.

He made the trip overseas while writing that “making America great again” during his 2024 re-election campaign.

He left town in the midst of his ongoing rape trial, in which attorney Joe Tacopina was questioning prosecutor E. Jean Carroll after claiming a mistrial and citing “unfair” judgments by the judge. Tacopina has not said if Trump plans to appear as a witness in a trial that could end this week.

Trump could be seen driving around the second set from the links at his golf course in Aberdeen.

It was a fresh day with a high of 45 and a low of 37 Fahrenheit on Monday.

Trump landed in Aberdeenshire and was greeted by Sarah Malone, Executive Vice President of Trump International Golf Links Scotland.

He was accompanied by his son Eric, an executive at the Trump Organization.

Announcing his trip on his Truth Social platform, he sounded eager to get down to business, following a spread that also included his former Vice President Mike Pence testifying before a grand jury examining his campaign efforts.

In a few weeks, Trump plans to hold a campaign rally in Des Moines, Iowa, a key battleground for Republican candidates this year.

Trump’s trip came amid ongoing testimony in his rape trial. Trump has denied E. Jean Carroll’s allegations, calling it a “hoax.”

“I will soon be leaving for Scotland and Ireland to see and inspect my magnificent possessions there,” he wrote, before describing his overseas holdings as “one of the largest in the world”.

“We will be meeting with many wonderful friends and cutting the ribbon for a new and spectacular second course in Aberdeen.

“Very exciting, despite the fact that I’m thinking about making America great again, America will actually be greater than ever,” he wrote.

His ribbon cutting at the Menie estate takes place on Tuesday ahead of a trip to his Turnberry class.

Trump’s plan to build a 550-home village along the plaza has met with angry local opposition and attempts by environmentalists to block it.

The property development, dubbed Trump International Golf Links, will also include a town hall and public plaza – and is being developed with the intention of hosting international tournaments.
