Trump’s disgust

Tired of the Trump circus? His arrests, his charges, his statements? I do. The weeks follow each other and resemble each other. Trump is accused, he announces it himself on social networks and photographs his vehicle driving in front of the court. Wait. The Counts and Rebels.

When it comes to Donald Trump and the MAGA movement, not much can surprise us anymore. The more he proves unworthy of the presidency of the world’s largest democracy, the more his supporters support him. The more he is picked up by the courts, the higher he climbs in the polls of Republican voters.

It is still amazing to see how insensitive public opinion has become to Trumpist escapades. Even his Republican opponents feel the need to defend him and criticize the justice system to stay in the running. That says it all.

threat to democracy

Politicians usually try to wash more whites than whites to prove their integrity, seriousness, and probity.

Former heads of state of great nations strive to assume a dignified stance, to rise above the fray and to respect the state they once led.

Politicians generally shudder at the thought that charges of first moral wrongdoing and then criminal wrongdoing can undermine their credibility and integrity and ruin their careers.

Not Trump. None of what has just been described applies to him. He was charged, arrested and investigated. He refuses to acknowledge the election results and still enjoys support. It’s dangerous because he realizes that no matter what he does, no matter what he says, no matter what he might be guilty of, he would represent an inescapable political force.

This unconditional love may be the greatest threat to American democracy. What lesson can she now teach the dictators she seeks to subdue?
