Is former and possible future US President Donald Trump preparing a list of people he would investigate if he returned to power? At least the Washington Post reports on the alleged “Project 2025”.
In almost exactly a year, the US will have to make another decision. There are currently many signs that Joe Biden, for the Democrats, and Donald Trump, for the Republicans, will face each other once again in the election campaign. If Trump wins, it would mean that his predecessor would replace his successor as President of the United States of America. Donald Trump wants to be well prepared for this moment – at least when it comes to retribution against his harshest critics. The Washington Post reported on Sunday about a “revenge plan” by the Trump team. Trump is said to have named specific people who should be investigated if he takes office again in January 2025.
The American newspaper spoke to people who would have been in personal contact with Trump about the project called “Project 2025”. According to the report, Trump would also not hesitate to sign executive orders for the Insurrection Act. Using the Insurrection Act, Trump could then use federal troops to quell unrest — as in 2020, after the death of George Floyd due to police violence. In 2020, Trump was hesitant to do so, which he later described as a mistake.
Trump means “law and order”
Trump campaign spokesman says Trump defends “law and order” and would “destroy his opponents in the primaries” and then defeat “corrupt Joe Biden”, said Steven Cheung, quoted by the Washington Post.
Trump’s former chief of staff, John Kelly, is one of those Republicans who fear Trump will return to office. He assumes he would be the target of an investigation. “There is no doubt that he will take action against the people who opposed him.”
Trump set to testify under oath in New York fraud trial
Trump will be in court again on Monday. The former US president is expected to testify in person at a fraud trial in New York on Monday. During the prosecutor’s extensive interrogation, Trump will be under oath. Trump’s first major statement in one of the numerous trials against him is eagerly awaited. It’s about the future of the 77-year-old’s corporate empire.
