This new channel will begin broadcasting on Thursday, January 11, 2024, TVA Group announced in a press release on Monday. Yoopa dies after 13 years of existence. During this time, the channel presented original Quebec productions including Théo, Lesétoiles du dodo, L’Académie Secret, Miam! and bam.

TVA Group declined our interview request. In a press release, the company invites Yoopa loyalists to subscribe to Club illico to “have access to youth and family content.” She also explains that given the “increased competition from foreign platforms in youth content,” the company needs to “reposition its television offering and focus on information and public affairs.”

This announcement comes just over a month after the closure of another Quebec channel aimed at young audiences, VRAK, which disappeared on October 1st.

The television version of QUB Radio, a web radio launched in 2018, will present “in a relaxed way” the programs already broadcast, including those by Benoit Dutrizac, Richard Martineau, Mario Dumont, Yasmine Abdelfadel and Sophie Durocher.
