Welcome to the 244th episode of TV's Top 5, 's TV podcast.

Host every week Lesley Goldberg (West Coast TV editor) and Daniel Fienberg (Chief TV Critics) break down the latest TV news with business and critical context, welcome showrunners, executives and other guests, and provide a critical guide to what to watch (or skip if necessary).

This week we review the industry's latest headlines (The Office!) and look back at the Emmy winners and the Fox show before welcoming the 5's best friend, Alan Sepinwall, to join us for a season recap.

This is how this week's episode goes:

1. Headlines

Young Sheldon, The White Lotus, Nathan Lane, Amazon's Faith Investment, Schmigadoon, Rap Sh!t and a Chuck E. Cheese reality show (yes, really) mark the week's top industry headlines.

2. Emmy winner

Was it predictable that The Bear, Succession and Beef won the Emmys? Yes, but there were some surprise winners and hey, let's call it what it is: an appetizer for the 76th Annual Primetime Emmys in September.

3rd Emmy broadcast

Goodbye! A host that has held its own! Moving and unforgettable speeches! We look at what worked – a lot! – and the few things that weren't the case during the Fox broadcast. Additionally, Dan and I kindly suggest that the Emmys continue to bring nostalgia into the ceremony each year.

4. Season review

Outside of the Emmys, this week was marked by the finals of several prestige programs. Chief critic of Rolling Stone Alan Sepinwall join in – spoiler alert! – a look back at the seasons of FX's Fargo, Apple's For All Mankind and Showtime's The Curse.

5. Critic's Corner

As always, we close with Dan's thoughts on this week's new and returning series. In this episode, he weighs in on Amazon's Hazbin Hotel and Hulu's Only Murders on the Boat Death and other details.
