Twins: a mysterious departure for Édouard Julien

Quebec’s Édouard Julien did not last long in the Minnesota Twins’ 6-0 win over the Boston Red Sox at Target Field on Thursday afternoon after being pulled out after just one sleeve.

The second baseman was replaced by Donovan Solano after just one shot. The Quebec City native’s performance ended in one strikeout of three strikeouts.

Twins manager Rocco Baldelli did not comment on the decision to ban the 24-year-old newcomer from the game during his post-game press conference. It must be said that two other players have attracted more attention for the Minnesota team.

Joe Ryan (8-4) threw a full game and allowed no runs except a measly three hits. The right-hander also batted nine Red Sox batters during the game.

The other player who excelled is outfielder Byron Buxton. The 29-year-old American hit a 460-foot home run twice, becoming the first player since the Statcast tool was launched in 2015 to hit it twice in the same game.

It’s not the longest home run of Buxton’s career, as he threw a ball 469 feet on April 24.

Coming back to Julien, he didn’t score any points in June. However, he had 11 hits in 36 plate appearances for a .306 batting average.

There is absolute silence until the extension

In Philadelphia, the Phillies and the Atlanta Braves needed overtime as the score was still 0-0 after nine regular innings.

The guests opened the floodgates on their tenth shot and finally won 5:1. The Braves recorded their eighth straight win.

In that final inning, Michael Harris Jr. broke the ice with a winning single. The 22-year-old was then pinned to the plate by Austin Riley’s double. Marcell Ozuna completed that offensive drive with his 14th long ball.

Alec Bohm responded with a sacrifice fly run for the Phillies, but the Pennsylvania side couldn’t complete the comeback.
