San Francisco:
New Twitter boss Parag Agraval said Thursday that he would reopen offices worldwide this month, but would allow people to work remotely if they wanted, as many companies are lifting closures introduced to combat the spread of Covid-19.
Google is also preparing employees to return to their Silicon Valley offices in early April, with the expectation that they will work from home only a few days a week.
The campuses of technology companies were abandoned at the start of the pandemic as the proliferation of Covid-19 caused a shift in society towards working remotely.
“Business travel takes effect immediately and all global Twitter offices will open from March 15,” Mr Agraval said in a series of tweets.
“Where you feel most productive and creative is where you work, and that includes WFH (working from home) full-time forever.”

He stressed that those who choose to continue working remotely will have to “learn and adapt”, given that “distributed work will be much more difficult”.
Mr. Agraval advocated returning to the office, arguing that it nurtures a vibrant corporate culture.
Google plans this month to help employees adapt to “hybrid” schedules, combining telecommuting and office work, according to US media reports.
