The Pininfarina Battista has just broken two acceleration records for a production model on the NATRAX test track in India. The quarter mile was completed in 8.55 seconds while the half mile was completed in just 13.38 seconds.
The operation was carried out in collaboration between Autocar India magazine and the Italian brand’s testing team. The newspaper’s editor, Hormazd Sorabjee, was behind the wheel. It could also reach the top speed of 358.03 km/h. Autocar India employee Renuka Kirpalani reached the speed of 357.10 km/h and officially became the fastest Indian driver in the world. “Nothing prepares you for the Battista’s brutal acceleration. It feels like a cannonball,” she said.

Performance has been verified by a VBOX data system installed in the car. For the acceleration tests, it was fitted with Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2R tires. In November 2022 he had sped from 0 to 60 mph in 1.79 seconds at the Nardo circuit in Italy.
As a reminder, the Battista is an electric supercar manufactured by Automibili Pininfarina Gmbh, a 100% subsidiary of Indian industrial group Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd, in collaboration with the famous Turin coachbuilder founded in 1928. Its name is a tribute to the founder of the latter. , Battista Farina.
It has four electric motors for a total output of 1900hp, while its 120kWh battery is provided by Croatian manufacturer Rimac. It should offer a range of 476 km according to the WLTP cycle. Its production is limited to 150 copies.
