A man turned himself in to police after stabbing a child, a teenager and a woman in critical condition during riots in Philadelphia on Sunday afternoon.

The 37-year-old woman received “multiple stab wounds all over her body.” A 15-year-old boy was stabbed twice in the back of the head, and a 10-year-old boy was stabbed once in the back of the head and once in the left leg.

They were taken to Frankford Torresdale Hospital. The two children are said to be in stable condition, police said, while the woman’s condition remains critical.

Later that day, the man surrendered at the 15th district station. He was taken to the hospital for identification and is currently in police custody. No charges were immediately announced.

The police statement indicated that the neighbor “woke up from loud screams in the next apartment.”
