Orlov traded from the Washington Capitals to the Boston Bruins before the final National Hockey League (NHL) trade deadline.

The 31-year-old guard had 36 points, including seven goals in 66 games in the 2022-23 season. He also had eight assists in seven playoff games with the Bruins.

The Capitals’ second-round pick in 2009 spent nearly ten seasons with that team. He won the Stanley Cup in 2018.

As for Michael Bunting, his stint with the Toronto Maple Leafs only lasted two seasons.

The Ontario native has agreed terms with the Hurricanes on a three-year deal that will allow him to be paid $4.50 million a year.

The Scarborough native made his breakthrough on the Bettman scene in the 2021-22 season by scoring 63 points, including 23 goals, in 79 games. His performances also earned him a nomination for the Calder Trophy.

Last season, the 27-year-old flashed 23 red lights but picked up 49 points in 82 competitions. He had one goal and one assist in seven playoff games for the Leafs.

The left winger will have his third NHL goal since he also played two seasons with the Arizona Coyotes.
