According to police, two people were killed and several injured in a shooting in Pittsburgh early Sunday morning.

The shooting happened at a party at a short-stay rental property north of the city, according to a police press release. According to authorities, more than 200 people were at the scene, many of them minors.

Upon arrival, officers saw people fleeing the scene and trying to escape by jumping out the window. Several people were taken to hospital, including 11 with gunshot wounds.

Two men who were shot died in hospital, according to police. They hadn’t been identified yet.

In a report updated at 5:02 a.m. Easter Sunday, Pittsburgh Public Safety said the first alert call came in just after 12:30 a.m. As units arrived on scene, more shots were fired nearby and several youths fled the area on foot or in vehicles.

People ran away from a property rented by AirBnB on Suismon Street off Madison Avenue. Agents located shooting victims at or near the scene, who were taken to local hospitals by Pittsburgh police and EMS. Other victims were taken to hospitals inside and outside the city through private means, the report said.

Police said up to 50 shots were fired inside the building and others outside. According to WTAE-TV, casings from rifles and pistols were found at the scene.

The police processed the evidence in up to eight different scenes spread over several blocks around the crime scene.

Initially, there was no information about suspects.
